A Young Cancer Survivor’s Inspiring Story of Recovery, Food and Travel.

Hospital cooking gets old.

While in chemotherapy, 17-year-old Ali Allouche was living vicariously through food documentaries and travel shows.  Hungry and inspired by his hero, Anthony Bourdain, Ali and his Mom, Jen, planned a map of restaurants across America they would visit when he was medically cleared.

Ali Eats America is a tearful, funny and honest documentary about living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

Treatment and recovery are never easy, but with an insatiable appetite for both food and life, Ali saw a world beyond his hospital walls.

Touched by his story, the culinary community embrace Ali, opening both their doors and menus.

From Pitmasters to Pizzerias. Bed and Breakfasts to Greasy Spoons. Ali is welcomed by the best restaurants and chefs from across the country-- including José Andrés and Wolfgang Puck.

Ali’s adventures take him from the pediatrics ward of Walter Reed Military Medical Center to the Mountains of the Ozarks, Bar-B-Q restaurants of the South, the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Food Trucks and Test Kitchens of Los Angeles, New York City’s Upper West Side and more.
